Collection: Procion Dyes

Procion dyes are the most commonly used dyes for quilters, dressmakers and anyone who works with fabric of fibre made from cellulose or plant material.  Common fibres dyed with these dyes are cotton, linen, rayon, soy, bark, grasses etc.  Silk also can be dyed with these dyes to a reasonable level of saturation. 

Use with sodium carbonate (soda ash) as a mordant and room temperature.  There is no need to steam these dyes.  Leave to react 12 to 24 hours before rinsing until the water runs clear.
